Football season is here! In celebration, I’ve joined a group of bloggers from all over the country — all of whom are big football fans! — to bring you football-inspired recipes this season. Last month we shared our favorite tailgating recipes, and now we are sharing more than 60 recipes ideas for celebrating on game day. Click on their links below to join in!
I didn’t have my first Philly Cheesesteak until I visited my boyfriend (now husband) on the Jersey Shore. I have to confess that I was initially skeptical – so. much. beef. – but my first bite hooked me. So much flavor! Salty, crispy beef, gooey cheese, mushrooms and onions! Delicious. Now that I am gluten-free, I refuse to give up on Philly Cheese Steaks… instead of bread, I just make Philly Cheese Steak Nachos!
Even if you can eat all the bread in the world, you might become a Philly Cheese Steak Nacho convert. Any Philadelphia Eagles fans out there? What better way to celebrate an Eagles victory … they are 3 and 0 right now, by the way! Serve these nachos at your next football party!
For these Philly Cheese Steak Nachos, I like to combine all the best parts of a Philly Cheese Steak … sliced steak, mozzarella, sauteed mushrooms and onions … YUM. I throw a few crispy scallions on the top to add a little greenery and crunch. Layer all of these ingredients over your favorite tortilla chips. Easy peasy. This deliciousness is hearty enough to be served as a meal – not just a snack. Trust me. My kids did not complain when this was dinner.
What’s your favorite non-traditional nacho topping? Happy football season snacking!!
