Thai Iced Coffee

I have been a fan of Thai iced coffee ever since I lived in Kenmore Square in Boston, conveniently a stone’s throw from one of many delicious Thai restaurants in the city. I never had to make my own version of Thai iced coffee until I moved far, far away and found myself craving a sweet afternoon pick-me-up. Thai iced coffee is the answer.

A few weeks ago, I was wandering around Philadelphia on the hottest day of they year and found a really cool little coffee shop called Cafe Twelve. I was desperately seeking shade, something cold, iced and definitely caffeinated. I was excited to see that Cafe Twelve served Thai iced coffee. I ordered it immediately and it was incredible! I have been on a Thai iced coffee kick ever since… It is really simple to make.

Ingredients:

Strong, cold coffee
Sweetened condensed milk
Half & half or cream
Ice

Directions:

Combine strong, cold coffee, a tablespoon or two of sweetened condensed milk, and cream over ice. Shake well!
