We have an amazing year-round Farmers’ Market on Cleveland’s West Side… you can find great deals on all sorts of produce and find just about any meat or spice you could possibly ever want.

I call this recipe Farmers’ Market Kung Pao Chicken because it works really well with any produce you can find at your farmers market.
This week I found 3 large peppers for $1 … they worked great in this dish.

This meal is so simple and delicious! Serve with rice noodles or rice.
Kung Pao Chicken
12 oz. chicken, diced
1 large pepper, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Saute these four ingredients together in a little bit of olive oil and butter.
Whisk these together for the Kung Pao Sauce …
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. soy sauce
4 t. cornstarch
1 T. sugar
1 t. vinegar
hot pepper sauce, a couple dashes
Add last for garnish …
6 scallions, diced
1/2 c. peanuts, chopped
1/2 c. cilantro, chopped
